Scrapbook Storage When You Have No Space

If you have a passion for scrapbooking, but lack space, it can be very difficult. You might be forced to keep all of your scrapbook storage in a cabinet, closet or even possibly on to of your refrigerator. Having an actual space designated just for your scrapbook storage can really help when your supplies start to accumulate.

That way you can easily find all the items you need to make your scrapbook projects easier and more efficient. It can get pretty time consuming having to sort through a mountain of materials to find the things you need. Here are some easy ideas that will help you with your scrapbook storage when you are lacking on space.

Install some shelves:

Find a wall that you can dedicate for scrapbook storage. Even in cramped spaces, you should be able to find a wall that you can use for your scrapbook storage. When you have found a great wall, install shelving from the floor to the ceiling. If you can't build out, you can always build up.

You can place doors on the shelves if you don't want all of your supplies showing. Another great idea is to use bins that fit well on the shelves to organize and store your supplies.

You can write on the outside of the bins with markers, or take a Polaroid of what's inside the bin and hot glue it to the outside of the bin. This makes for quick access to all of your supplies. You can purchase office supply paper holder to place in your shelves and separate your papers as well.

Maximize your space:

The key to scrapbook storage for small spaces is to maximize your space. You want to be able to get as much as you can in as small an area as you can. If you don't have enough room for shelving, try an under the bed' container to keep your scrapbook supplies in.

You can purchase these from any home supply store. Place your small items such as stickers, markers, or small embellishments in labeled Ziploc bags and place them in your under the bed organizer. You can also keep things like paper and other supplies in here.

This is great for people with very limited space who need scrapbook storage. You can pull out the organizer any time you need to, and your items are still organized and you can get to them quickly.

If you have to, you can always dedicate one of the kitchen cabinets for your scrapbook storage. Just take all of the food out of it and put them in the other cabinets. This should only be done if you have absolutely not space at all to work with otherwise.

No matter who you are or what your space is like, you can create scrapbook storage if you use your imagination and work with what you have. Use these great ideas to help you come up with a scrapbook storage plan today.

Reach Your Goals By Doing Something

Action is 'doing something'.

The above phrase is how the Cambridge online dictionary defines action.

I like this definition because it encourages action. Action is 'doing something'. It is not necessarily doing something perfectly or even well.

My granddad used to say: "If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well."

This is a fine ideal but it does not always inspire people to start taking action. I prefer to modify the saying to:

"If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly at first."

This way people are encouraged to get started on 'doing something' and the value of just 'doing something' is enormous.

The internet guru, David Vallieres, writes about people whose goal is to start their own business:

"Problem is; most people never get started! If they just got started....at least they DID SOMETHING... all they have to do is get started and then new opportunities open (like magic) because THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING to work toward their goal."

Action or 'doing something' is the magic wand that opens the doors of opportunity and leads on to success. Without action, nothing much happens.

If you want to be a copywriter, 'do something!' Start writing copy! Read a great sales letter and then copy it in your own words. If you want to lose weight, go for a walk or lift some weights.

If you want to make money, sell something by 'doing something' to place it in the public eye. Jane Eyre, in Charlotte Bronte's great novel, 'did something' whenever she needed a job. She placed an ad in the paper.

Kevin Riley, a successful internet infopreneur, gives this advice:

"Remember this: You need to take action if you want to make a difference in your life. I have a friend who has been hesitating for a long time. He's been watching as my infopreneur business has grown and yet ... he has done nothing! He keeps plugging along in a job he despises and grumbling about the injustices of his life. Why? All he needs to do is -- Do it!"

Once you make a start, all kinds of things can happen to assist you.

When I started this article I had not planned out in detail what I was going to say. I just started and, almost immediately, came across a dictionary definition which reminded me of my grandad's words.

I then found David Vallieres' email which contained the exact words of the definition 'DOING SOMETHING' in capital letters. I then received an email from Kevin Riley telling us that all we need to do is -- 'Do it!'

Take action and the doors will open if only to give you relevant article material! Just start writing and the ideas will come.

In one film version of the novel, 'Jane Eyre', Rochester, the hero, is blind and in despair. Suddenly he realizes that his beloved Jane has returned and is in the room with him. He has trouble believing that she is really there and cries out:

"Jane Eyre, Jane Eyre! So many times I have dreamed of this moment and then the dream vanishes and flies away. Gentle dream, kiss me before you go!"

Like Rochester, not many of us dare to believe that our dreams will come true or last for long even if they do come true. We need to 'do something' and to keep 'doing something' if we want our dreams to materialize and become real in our lives. If we do nothing, they will disappear like ghosts into the mist.

Belief is an important precursor to action. If we don't believe that we can make money, we are unlikely to do anything that might just make us the money we dream about. Subconsciously we will think that money making actions like placing ads for products or services are a waste of time.

Some time ago, I read about a businessman whose ads were not great examples of the art of advertising but he kept putting them out.

His favourite saying was 'Doin' it! Doin' it! Doin' it!' In other words, he took action daily to promote his products. The result of this was outstanding business success!

What about planning and reading about how to do something? Is that action? I think it is.

Recently, a bench made of Sicilian wood and aluminium was delivered to me in a box with instructions. I asked the delivery man if it would be easy to assemble. He replied "I think so!"

I asked if it would support my weight. He laughed! He was a big man himself.

I spent half an hour reading the instructions and sorting out the different bolts and aluminium supports. It then took well over an hour to put the bench together and it did support my weight!

If I had not read the instructions very carefully before trying to assemble the bench, it would have taken much longer to put together and it might well have been a risk to life and limb.

The moral of this story is that preparation and planning are 'actions'. They are 'doing something' necessary and valuable. So don't hesitate to read the instruction manual or the help file. The wise spend a long time 'sharpening their axes'.

Writing out or typing out to do lists is a productive way of 'sharpening your axe'. Try writing out about six things you have to do daily in order of importance and then do them one by one. See what happens!

Of course, action can be mental or it can be physical. Most authorities agree that physical action is necessary for good health. Our ancestors had to move and move fast to hunt down their food or to evade predators who saw them as food.

Action can improve your health and prolong your life. Apparently, 25% of people who suffer hip fractures die within a year from complications. As bone density decreases with age, the risk of bone fracture increases greatly.

A recent study showed that the best way to avoid bone fracture is to exercise i.e. to take intense physical action for three sessions a week. Exercise builds muscle mass, increases bone density, and improves balance.

Exercise is also the best way to turn back your aging clock.

A friend walks with his terrier in the local woods. He has just reached his 90th birthday but looks no older than seventy. A recent study in Ireland shows that walking for half an hour three times a week has considerable health benefits which might well help you live longer.

Walking is the most painless form of exercise. Half an hour a day or just three times a week can lower your blood pressure, strengthen your heart and lungs and help control diabetes.

It can also make depression less likely especially if you walk outside. What is crucial is to walk a little faster in a way which leaves you slightly breathless.

Action, whether physical or mental, stimulates your brain cells and helps you to see new ideas and possibilities. It also leads to motivation.

Don't wait for the inspiration or the motivation you feel is necessary to take action. You may have to wait too long. Instead, use your willpower to force yourself to take action and motivation will arrive later as you get going.

How then can 'doing something' help us achieve our goals?

The phrase 'doing something' can encourage us to make a start. Remember that: "If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly at first."

Robert Ringer said much the same thing:

"What unleashes action is an individuals willingness to make mistakes even to look foolish or stupid."

Mike Litman has a similar saying which can also inspire action:

"Remember, you don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going."

Once you make a start, all kinds of things will happen to assist you.

Believe that you can make money and you are much more likely to take the actions that will help you to make money.

Keep doin' it, doin' it, doin't it. Do something daily to achieve your goals even if what you do is not perfect.

Planning is an important part of action. Sharpen your axe. Read the help file!

Writing out or typing out to do lists is one of the most productive ways of 'sharpening your axe'.

Physical action can improve both your mental and physical health and prolong your life. Walk at least three times a week for about half an hour. And try to get out of breath occasionally as you walk. You, too, could reach 90 and still look twenty years younger.

Take action even if you feel you are wasting your time. Excitement and motivation will eventually arrive and drive you forwards to achieve your goals.

John Watson has just written a brand new ebook on 'How To Reach Your Goals Now By Ditching Your Excuses' which describes how to deal effectively with the insidious excuses which prevent many of us from achieving our dreams.
